Privacy Policy
Last updated: placeholder — replace with your reviewed legal text before launch. Trou Tyd is designed to operate in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Information we collect
Event Owners provide account details (name, email, mobile number) and event details. Guests provide their name, contact details, RSVP status, accommodation preferences and dietary requirements when responding to an invitation.
Sensitive information
Dietary requirements are classified as sensitive personal information (which may reveal health, religious or lifestyle information) and are stored, transmitted and accessed with additional safeguards, visible only to the event's owners and authorised planners.
How we use information
Information is used solely to operate the requested wedding event: managing guests, invitations, RSVPs, accommodation, dietary catering, registries, communications and check-in, and to bill for the service.
Data retention & deletion
Once an event is archived, its data is retained for a configurable period (three months by default) before being anonymised or deleted. You may request export or deletion of your data at any time via your dashboard or by contacting us.
Security
We use encrypted storage, TLS in transit, password hashing, rate limiting and audit logging of critical actions. Multi-factor authentication is available as an optional security control.
Third parties
Payments are processed by PayFast. Emails are delivered via our email service provider. We do not sell personal information.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and may withdraw consent at any time, subject to our legitimate retention requirements.
